Hey its JR, training manager here at Crutchfield, and I'm surrounded today by the Pioneer D Series speakers. We've been selling Pioneer speakers or Crutchfield basically since day one, we know them, we love them, and these are some of the best Pioneer speakers we've ever heard. These are particularly great when used with an amplifier, so they're not the most efficient speakers you're ever gonna hear from Pioneer.
If you give them power, they're really gonna give you great sound, and part of the reason for that is the polypropylene woofer with aramid fibers interlaced in, which gives you a nice stiff, yet lightweight and easily controllable woofer that's going to give you powerful bass, good solid mid-range. And then the one-inch textile tweeter sounds soft but clear, and it's a big one-inch tweeter so you're gonna get a lot of highs out of this. And whether you're going for the component tweeter where you mount it separately, or the coax tweeter where it's built in, it's a one-inch aimable textile dome tweeter, so you can get the music no matter where you place the tweeter, aimed right at your music holes.
There's several different sizes available. There's six by eight and six and a half inch and six by nine coax speakers, that's with the tweeter built in. You can also get a six and a half inch or a six by nine inch component system. One of the nice things I like about the component system is you're not going to have a separate component crossover to install somewhere in your door. A lot of people worry about installing a component crossover where am I gonna put it. You don't have that concern here, but they didn't skimp on the crossover either. It's a great crossover, mounted right to the back of the woofer so you're gonna still get great separation, great staging of the sound up nice and high in your car.
